Highlights

Are you ready for the challenge of the Dolomites? For amazing climbs rewarded by spectacular vistas and sensational, wind-in-your-face descents? Here in the first natural monument in Italy protected by UNESCO, you'll take the ride of a lifetime to World War I sites and remote villages of another time. It's a perfect blend of athletics and pampering, both for experts and others ready to radically improve their cycling skills.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Bolzano

Head out for an afternoon spin and walking tour of this lively and well-preserved medieval gem. Then we'll visit the 5,000 year old Ice Man, in the Archaeological Museum.

Day 2—3 – Canazei

The first ride will lead us to the Val d'Ega, where Austrian language and culture are still dominant among the locals. An afternoon climb leads to Canazei, a spa town and ski resort with Roman roots. Our hotel offers a wonderful fitness and spa center including whirlpool, sauna and massages. Day 3 features a ride through the four Passes of “Sellaronda,” one of the Alps’ most beautiful circuits. Every year, millions of bikes come to follow the tracks of the greatest cyclists of the past, such as Bartali and Coppi, who built their legends on these ramps.

Day 4—5 – Cortina

Today we experience the landscape's inherent peace and tranquility. Climb the Marmolada, the “Queen of the Dolomites,” en route to Cortina. As you reach the summits of the climbs, you will undoubtedly be filled with an international cycling spirit! Day 5, take a break from cycling. Perhaps you’ll hike the Tre Cime, following historical trails along the battlefields of WWI. Or, if you prefer to keep biking, an optional loop around this gorgeous town is also available.

Day 6 – Fiera di Primiero

Climb toward Pale di San Martino park, passing through Paneveggio—a forest whose wood was used to build the violins of Cremona.

Day 7 – Levico Terme

Ride to Levico Terme, a spa town near beautiful Lake Caldonazzo. Spend the afternoon on its shores, or visit a bike-making workshop.

Day 8 – Asiago

History buffs will love this portion of our journey as we pass through several sites of wartime troubles between Italians and Austrians.

Day 9 – Asolo

After pausing at somber WWII battlegroundss, continue on through quaint medieval towns.

Day 10 – Arrivederci!

Parting is such sweet sorrow... but Venezia is only 40 miles away... do you really want to miss it? We are happy to assist you with any further travel plans!
