Itinerary
Day 1—2 – Glorenza
In Bolzano, board a group shuttle to our mountain hotel. Then, join our warm-up ride to the open fields below Ortles Mountain. On day 2, we'll bike along the picturesque eastern shore of Lake Resia.
Day 3 – Merano
With high mountains and ancient castles watching over us, we ride in the valley along the Adige River in a magic alpine atmosphere. Most of the itinerary is on country roads, often closed to traffic, winding through apple orchards, pastures and forests.
Day 4—5 – Bolzano
Follow the Adige River back to Bolzano, a charming town rich with medieval architecture. We'll pass through many small villages along the way. Day 5 is sure to be unforgettable. We take a cable car from Bolzano to reach the Renon Plateau, which we then traverse through wide fields and splendid forests. We'll picnic in the company of beautiful Avelignesi horses and... Tibetan llamas. In the afternoon, we'll visit Otzi, the 5600 year old mummy, now housed in an Archaeological Museum. Cap off this wonderful day with our first winetasting!
Day 6 – Trento
Ride past vineyards, orchards, rivers and the lovely Lake Caldaro on the Ciclopista del Sole (meaning "bike path of the sun"). Following a trip to a bicycle factory, we'll then enter Trento, an ancient Roman city.
Day 7—8 – Riva del Garda
Pedal along the Adige River through a sea of vineyards, to Italy's Lake District. We'll stop in culturally diverse Rovereto, built around a Venetian castle. Day 8, relax by the lake, visit an olive-oil museum or cycle along a scenic ridge: pedal through vineyards, olive trees and kiwi fruit orchards on the back roads of Italy’s Lake District. We'll stop in some small towns, and visit one of the best stocked bike jersey shops you'll ever see!
Day 9 – Arrivederci!
We bid you a fond farewell and shuttle you to the Rovereto train station. Why not spend a couple of days in the fair city of Verona, or head to Venezia for complete sensory immersion?
