Trip ItineraryDay 1 – Verona
Meet at 1:00pm for introductions at our hotel in Verona (we will not visit museums this afternoon, so see the sights in the morning if you are interested). After a bike fitting, enjoy a leisurely warm up ride through Romeo and Juliet's town and out into the surrounding area. Day 2 – Verona to Riva Del Garda
Today’s ride offers a wide range of landscapes. After a quick ride on the banks of Adige, we head to the mountains of Monti Lessini. The second part the day’s ride heads to Lake of Garda, the largest lake in Italy. Day 3 – Riva Del Garda Trento
Today we ascend the pass famous in the world of cycling and has been seen in many Giro d’Italia race routes of the past; finishing point of stage 16 of the 2006 Giro D’Italia and where Charly Gaul won his Giro d’Italia in 1956. Day 4 – Trento to Bolzano
As we head towards Bolzano and get ready for our race viewing, we veer off the main track to see one of the Trentino region’s most famous, natural anomalies, the Piramidi di Segonzano. Day 5 – Alpe di Pampeago - Giro d'italia Stage 14
On our first day at the Race, we’ll ride towards the finish in Alpe Di Pampeago. We watch the race at the finish line or wherever we find a good group of fans willing to share their homemade wines and barbecued sausages. In 2008 it will be the first tough climb of the Giro. Day 6 – Passo Fedaia - Giro d'Italia Stage 15
Today we head to the top of the Passo Falzarego to see the end of Stage 15. Another great climb featured in past races, this may be the hardest group stage of the race. We begin the climb on the gorgeous “Marmolada” mountain, the highest mountain in the Dolomites, then continue to ride towards the Passo Falzarego. For an extra loop, we will climb to a summit point of Passo Fedaia at 2057 meters. After watching the end of the race we return to Canazei for the evening. Day 7 – Plan De Corones - Giro d'italia Stage 16 (time trial)
Plan De Corones is a ski resort in the German speaking area of Sud Tyrol. This will be the hardest ride to date! Watching this individual Time Trial along a difficult mountain pass, we’ll have the chance to cheer at every rider as they pass one by one! In the evening we have a celebratory dinner in the lovely town of Brunico. Day 8 – Arrivederci!
We end our tour the morning of Day 8 in Brunico. After breakfast, around 9am, we will shuttle you to the Bolzano train station, where you can make connections. This shuttle takes about 1.5 hours. Map |
