Trip ItineraryDay 1 – Melk
A warm up ride along the Danube River showcases the landscape and architecture characteristic of this region. We will view the beauty of woodlands, valleys, vineyards and farms. Day 2 – Euratsfeld
Begin your day with a visit to Melk's 900-year old abbey. The central church dominates the neighboring buildings, with its towers and octagonal dome. The church's luminescent interior was the inspiration for Umberto Eco's novel, "The Name of the Rose." We will then pedal through rich farmlands, abundant with apple and pear trees. Day 3-4 – Steyr
Spin through farming countryside to gorgeous and architecturally rich Steyr. This 1000-year-old city integrates its rich history with modern industry (BMW). On day 4, roll through the pastoral Austrian countryside on our way to Lamberg Castle. Day 5-6 – Gmunden
A lengthy ride along an old trade route takesus to Austria’s breathtaking lakes region. The trip culminates in the picturesque town of Gmunden, famous for its lakefront setting, many castles, unique ceramic style and Porche museum. Our hotel for two nights is a 16th-century castle with stunning lake views. Our second day in Gmunden will give you the freedom to roam the market, tour the castles and unique homes, or enjoy a dip in the lake! Day 7 – Mondsee
Gorgeous scenery awaits you through mountain peaks, waterfalls, and orchards. Stop to take a dip on our way in to Mondsee! Day 8 – Salzburg
Travel through the storybook land of Salzkammergut to Salzburg. From our hotel, located in a square featured in "The Sound of Music", enjoy a walking tour of the romantic city. Day 9 – Auf Wiedersehen!
