Highlights

Spend four days - the perfect long weekend - in the glorious splendor of the Berkshire Hills of western Massachusetts. Fill your days with a diverse range of smooth cycling roads, quaint museums, pastoral valleys and majestic mountains in this culturally rich colonial region!

Itinerary

Day 1 – Hancock Shaker Village

A short climb over Lenox Mountain yields a panoramic view of Stockbridge Bowl and Monument Mountain. Hancock Shaker Village’s wonderfully preserved shops, kitchen, barns and heritage garden will charm you!

Day 2 – Stockbridge

Pedal to Stockbridge and visit the historic Mission House and the Monterey General Store, then descend to the pastoral Tyringham Valley, stopping by the "Gingerbread House".

Day 3 – Alford

Today we spin to Chesterwood, home of sculptor Daniel Chester French. Journey along the Housatonic River and stop for a visit at the wonderful Norman Rockwell Museum.

Day 4 – Mt. Greylock

The choice is yours: a 10 mile ride or hike up Mt. Greylock (elev 3450 ft), or a scenic ride on the Ashuwilticook Rail Trail. After lunch, we say our farewells!
