Leadership for Life Program

Paving the way once again, we are the FIRST tour operator to develop a unique and stimulating bicycle leadership training course that combines practical instruction and leadership philosophy with an exciting cultural and social immersion.

If you have what it takes, we can teach you the skills culled from our years of invaluable group tour-leading experience. Perhaps you’d like to sharpen your leadership skills...design the perfect tour for your cycling buddies...improve your form and strength on the bike…learn how to run your local cycling events...or simply enhance your personal growth. This exciting course will take you from a participant to a revered and respected leader, ready to share and shape the world on two wheels.

What better place is there to learn the Art of Leadership on a bicycle than in Tuscany, the beautiful land of La Bicicletta? During our Leadership for Life Program, there will be ample time to partake in our favorite pastimes: cycling on the world’s most spectacular roads, making new cycling friends and eating abundant courses of pasta and vino.

Your lead instructor will be our Director of Italian Operations (and Boy Scout leader extraordinaire) Davide Marchegiano, as well as several of our most experienced tour leaders. And if you love the course so much that you want lead trips for Ciclismo Classico, we’ll consider all graduates as top candidates!

Team Building - Leadership for Life isn’t just for individuals! Would you and your team like to create a team building/leadership training session in Tuscany? Is your company or team ready to carve out its 3-, 5- or 10-year plan? What better place to inspire visionary leadership than in Tuscany: the landscape that inspired painters, princes and inventors. We can help you develop a unique team-building session by providing the backdrop, the leadership curriculum and the heart-pounding activities that will lead you and your team from good to great!

Day 1 – Arrival
Today we'll start with introductions and discuss Community Building. Learn the art of bike fitting, and basics of pedaling techniques.

Day 2 – Leadership for Life Program
Begin your day with a discussion on our motto, \"Transforming Lives through Active Travel\". We\'ll show you how to prepare for the \"PPE\"- Profound Personal Experience. Next, we\'ll have a bike mechanics lesson, followed by the Setteponti loop, which will teach you road catching techniques. You\'ll also learn about Italian cycling traditions and culture today.

Day 3 – Leadership for Life Program
On Day 3 we'll first talk about Community Building "For the Sheer Fun of It!"- the role of pure play in experiential education. You'll also learn about safety, and how to be a great group leader. Spin from Pieve to Presciano and enjoy our Personal Renewal Workshop.

Day 4 – Leadership for Life Program
Today, we discuss a wide variety of topics. This morning, learn how to conduct initiative games anywhere. We'll then go over map reading, van support and equipment. Our ride takes us to San Pancrazio, and along the way we'll stop for a menu and picnic-planning lesson. We'll also talk about bike mechanics and Italian music today.

Day 5 – Leadership for Life Program
Put together everything you have learned and discuss your next step. We'll talk about designing tours, group dynamics, and how to proceed from here.

Day 6 – Arrivederci!
After we wrap up our program, you will be well prepared and have the confidence to lead any bike tour!
