Itinerary
Day 1 – Ancona
Start in a stunning setting: The phenomenal Adriatic coast.
Day 2 – Macerata
Wind through the Conero Hills along the coast to Macerata, gem of the Marche region.
Day 3—4 – Ascoli Piceno
Climb into the Sibillini mountains en route to Ascoli Piceno, a town that predates the Roman Empire. Day 4, explore the region on a loop ride, then join a hike through the town and mountains.
Day 5 – Fonte Cerreto
Enter tranquil Abruzzo through the Gran Sasso National Park.
Day 6 – Caramanico Terme
Spin along a lush upland basin blanketed with wildflowers in the spring and wheat fields in autumn. A 10-mile descent to elegant Capestrano follows.
Day 7 – Scanno
Ride along the La Maiella foothills before a roller-coaster descent to Sulmona, famous for its aqueduct, 15th-century palazzo and confetti (the almond candies give away at Italian weddings).
Day 8 – Arrivederci
Shuttle to Rome for your homeward trip.
