Come one come all!

Put some antlers on your helmet, tie some jingle bells to your two-wheeled friend, and join fellow holiday merrymakers at the 16th Annual Ciclismo Classico Jingle Ride.

On Sunday, December 9th, bring family and friends to Arlington for a leisurely and festive bike parade to Boston and back.  This 22-mile ride rolls through Harvard Square, the Charles River bike path along the Esplanade, Boston Common, and Newbury Street – we may stop and sing carols for passersby, or just parade along showing some creative holiday spirit. We’ll also enjoy hot cocoa and cookies at Harvard Square,courtesy of the Harvard Square Business Association!

Join the Jingle Ride!

Date: Sunday December 9, 2012 (ride will be cancelled if there is extreme weather)

Time: registration opens at 10:15 AM, ride leaves promptly at 11 AM

Distance: 22-mile leisurely loop from Arlington to Boston and back

Starting point: Jam N’ Java, 594 Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington Center, MA   MAP

Cost: Suggested donation of $25 (children under 18 are free if accompanied by an adult).  Includes light breakfast and coffee. All proceeds go to Horizons for Homeless Children.

Note: Whether you are a tin soldier or “Olive, the Other Reindeer”, there needs to be a helmet on your head!

You’re new to biking, or you just want to take it easy with lots of stops to take pictures and explore and no one hurrying you along. Expect a leisurely pace over generally flat terrain.

Moderate Avg 35–45 miles per day

You’re not a fanatical rider, but you exercise regularly and enjoy a leisurely day’s spin on your bike. You might want to graduate to “intermediate” one day, or not. The pace is relaxed but the terrain gently rolling, more ups and downs, more vistas and valleys than Easy tours.

Intermediate Avg 40–45 miles per day

Do you ride your bike regulary? Have you been on bike tours and active vacations before? Do you enjoy pushing yourself? If a perfect day is one where you're always active, consider our "Intermediate" tours. Maintain a steady pace with some challenging climbs and glorious descents over rolling terain.

The longer miles, the vigorous pacing, the satisfying clumbs, and thrilling descents – not to mention routes that are nothing short of stunning – they're all here on our "Expert" tours.

Easy

You’re new to biking, or you just want to take it easy with lots of stops to take pictures and explore and no one hurrying you along. Expect a leisurely pace over generally flat terrain.

Moderate

You’re not a fanatical rider, but you exercise regularly and enjoy a leisurely day’s spin on your bike. You might want to graduate to “intermediate” one day, or not. The pace is relaxed but the terrain gently rolling, more ups and downs, more vistas and valleys than Easy tours.

Average distance per day: 35-45 miles.

Intermediate

You’re active on your days off, and recreational biking is most likely your weekend sport of choice. You love to ride and it shows in your endurance and strength. A steady but active pace, with opportunities to push yourself and some challenging climbs, with great descents over rolling terrain. (These folks ARE cyclists, they are usually pretty serious cyclists but do not train at the expert level.)

Average distance per day: 40-50 miles.

Expert

You crave vigorous pacing, challenging climbs and thrilling descents. You crave longer mileage with lots of hills and descents, varying terrain, and a mountain pass or two only makes it better.

Average distance per day: 45+ miles.

Family

If you have kids under 16, we have great options for you! With fewer hotel changes, easier biking and wheels for all ages, we've got your ideal active family holiday.
