Day 1: Experience the Alghero's Spanish heritage on a warm-up ride to the Sanctuary of Valverde. Day 2: Ride to Capo Caccia, visit the Grotto of Nettuno and come back to Alghero for a guided tour and some free time in town.

Day 3: Bosa
Bosa

Today’s ride follows the spectacular coastline to Bosa, a natural oasis for rare birds like the reed warbler, the kingfisher and the griffon vulture. You’ll spin along Bosa’s rocky shores, whose natural ebony cliffs are fortified by ancient landslides that jut out into the Mediterranean.

Day 4: Cuglieri and Santa Caterina di Pittinuri
Cuglieri and Santa Caterina di Pittinuri

Ride to Cuglieri, passing mountains, woods, rivers and enjoy the view of the coastline. Continue to Santa Caterina di Pittinuri to relax at our hotel or take an exciting extra loop inland.

Day 5: Fordongianus

Today, after a rolling ride by the sea, leave the coast and enjoy a flat terrain en route to Fordongianus,
passing by Paulilatino, in the heart of Sardegna. This area is dotted with pastures and remote villages, in which you might get caught up in a sheep traffic jam.

Day 6: Lago di Gusana
Lago di Gusana

Today we ride inland to the Barbagia, a rugged landscape rich in living traditions. The silence of these untouched mountains will give you the impression that time has stopped, and you may even see rare animals like wild pigs and eagles.

Day 7–8: Su Gologone, Oliena & hike to Mt. Corrasi

Day 6: We wind our way around the mountains of Gennargentu, visiting Orgosolo, the village of murals, before arriving in the village of Oliena.
Day 7: Today we are off the bike, to enjoy the beautiful area of Supramonte and a hike to the top of Mount Corrasi, from where you catch breathtaking views of the valley below and savor a delicious picnic with local shepherds.

Day 9: Villasimius
Villasimius

We ascend from 328 to 3,280 feet towards the Genna Silana pass, and then back down to sea level on what is sure to be one of the best rides of your life. After a 1.5-hour afternoon shuttle to skip the “orientale Sarda,” the Southeastern main road, you will finally reach our hotel by the beach in Villa Simius.
Celebrate with a dip in the beautiful pristine water of this stretch of coast of Sardegna: a beautiful
background to enjoy our great accomplishment. Bravi, you made it!

Day 10: Arrivederci!

A sumptuous breakfast ends our cycling exploration of Sardinia.

To change your default trip level please select a new level from the list below.

All Levels

You’re potentially interested in any level of trip and don't want your site experience tailored to any specific level.

Easy

You’re new to biking, or you just want to take it easy with lots of stops to take pictures and explore and no one hurrying you along. Expect a leisurely pace over generally flat terrain.

Average distance per day: 18-35 miles.

Moderate

You’re not a fanatical rider, but you exercise regularly and enjoy a leisurely day’s spin on your bike. You might want to graduate to “intermediate” one day, or not. The pace is relaxed but the terrain gently rolling, more ups and downs, more vistas and valleys than Easy tours.

Average distance per day: 35-45 miles.

Intermediate

You’re active on your days off, and recreational biking is most likely your weekend sport of choice. You love to ride and it shows in your endurance and strength. A steady but active pace, with opportunities to push yourself and some challenging climbs, with great descents over rolling terrain. (These folks ARE cyclists, they are usually pretty serious cyclists but do not train at the expert level.)

Average distance per day: 40-50 miles.

Expert

You crave vigorous pacing, challenging climbs and thrilling descents. You crave longer mileage with lots of hills and descents, varying terrain, and a mountain pass or two only makes it better.

Average distance per day: 45+ miles.

Family

If you have kids under 16, we have great options for you! With fewer hotel changes, easier biking and wheels for all ages, we've got your ideal active family holiday.

Average distance per day: 20–30 miles.
